Arma 3 Starship Troopers mission

Hello RIP,

I'm a member of the Arma 3 clan 7th Rangers and not to long ago I made a mission for this clan based around the Starship Trooper universe with the Starship Troopers: Opposition mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1800899085).

Now the thing is: interest within the clan for such a mission is a bit low. We could propably only get 4-6 guys together, where more are required. So I have a very simple question:

Would RIP arma 3 players be interested in joining us for such a mission? Would this conflict with your rules or aims as a gaming clan?

I can assure you this will be a quality mission. I now have several years of experience with making missions for Arma 3 and I'm not here to offer a barely working wreck of a mission. All I'm here for is to see if there is any interest from your side to perhaps try something different in arma 3, with some other likeminded individuals.

Yes mate definitely and with the Arma launcher really easy to download mods etc I cant see it being a problem!

By the way, what server are you hoping to host this mission on?

If you guys are willing your server(s) might be a possibility. On the other hand our clan also has a dedicated server in Germany for our operations. If the server is not in use for our regular operations it would be a possibility as well.

Do you think enough people in RIP would be interested in such a operation?

I'd be interested, though Arma isn't my main game. We might get some of the Arma guys joining this thread, see what they think.

I'll expand a bit on the operations story and mechanics.

The operation takes place during the invasion of Planet P in the movies, where the Mobile Infantry attempts to capture a smart brain bug. Our story plays on one of the 3 moons of Planet P, where similar fights are happening in accordance with Sky Marshalls Tehat Meru's plans to clear out the Klendathu system one planet at a time.

At the start of the mission we will be able to slot up in three different infantry squads of 8 men each, with the possibility of a overarching platoon command squad. Once we spawn in we will be able to pick up a premade loadout. Arsenal wil be disabled for both balancing reasons and the fact that quite a few weapons in the mod were not used during the early stages of the bug wars. ACE medical (and ACE as a whole) will not be used. The mod support for this is not up to date. Both land and air vehicles (including terminals to spawn in additional ones) will be provided at base. A briefing, mission objectives and tips for playing with this specific mod are also provided. Additional ammunition and medical gear will be available at every Federation structure. There will be no supply drops. A JIP (jump in progress) system will be provided for anyone joining late. Respawning will work in waves, if only one person dies, such a wave can be up to 5 minutes away. The more people die the more likely it is we will respawn right away. Reinsertion will either be by vehicle or JIP depending on the severity of the casualties.

The mission is entirely premade, while a zeus will be present to solve any issues that might arrise, if no such issues arrise a zeus will not be necessary.
